There are two parts to this comprehensive, 400-page, softcover book, designed to fit easily into a boat bookshelf.  Part I consists of 10 chapters and runs the gamut of pertinent topics, from "Boat Care & Maintenance" and "Communications & Electronics," to "Mayday! Abandon Ship! Fire! Explosions!" and "Foul Weather Gear and Personal Belongings." 

Part II is a compilation of more than 700 manufacturers and suppliers of nautical gear and equipment, including addresses, phone, fax and 800 numbers, and a brief description of each company and its products.  Published in 1994, this book is considered one of the bibles of boating and continues to sell very well.
